What, Why and How?

Q1. What is goforpractice.com?

GoforPractice.com is an online Practice Test platform for the school students to assess and evaluate their test preparedness. It is based primarily on the course prescribed by CBSE Board, India while students of other State Board and ICSE syllabus can also explore this online digital platform.

Q2. Why should I join GoforPractice.com?

GoforPractice is a platform with a rich repository of Practice Tests across various Subjects and Chapters. These Practice Tests provide ample opportunity for the user to Test their knwoledge and efficiency and score higher in their school Tests. Click here to join.

Q3. How do I access GoforPractice.com?

You can access it instantly by logging from a Desktop, MAC, Tablet, iPad, iPhones or other smartphones. Practice Tests are available for you anytime and anywhere that you wish.

Q4. Can I access GFP simultaneously from more than one device/Computer?

One Login allows one access at one time. If the User is already logged in from a device, then the same login credentials can not be used to login from another computer or device.

Registration

Q1. Who can join GoforPractice.com?

Students, Teachers, Parents and others who have interest in learning can register.

Q2. How much do I need to pay to join GoforPractice.com?

Registration is FREE. Access to all the content is currently FREE for all the Registered Users.

Q3. How do I join GoforPractice.com?

To become a User at GoforPractice.com, Click here and fill up User details. Then click the "Join now" button. A verification mail will be immediately sent to the registered email ID, to get you started.

Q4. Why should I provide a mobile number at Registration?

You can conveniently receive the mobile alerts on the Practice Tests completed and other progress made by the User.

Q5. What is the benefit of giving the name of the City while I register?

The name of the City would enable us to give you a comparative analysis vis-à-vis other students in the same city.

Q6. I forgot/lost my password. What should I do?

If you have forgotten/lost you password, we can send a password reset mail to your registered email address. Click here to request for a password reset mail.

Q7. How do I change my password?

To change your password, simply access your 'My Account' after login. You will find a field there to be able to change your password.

Q8. I think I attempted thrice to login with a wrong password and my account is locked. How do I get back my access?

Just use the "Forgot Password" link and we will send a password reset mail to your registered email address.

Q9. Can one register for more than one class on a single email ID?

One email ID can be registered for accessing one class at a time.

Subscription

Q1. What is a subscription?

At the time of registration, the User has to select the class for which the access is sought. Subscription means access to that particular class.

Q2. What are the various packages available for subscription?

Currently, one subscription allows access to all the content for the selected class.

Q3. How much do I need to pay for subscription at GoforPractice.com?

Registration is FREE. Access to all the content is currently FREE for all the Registered Users.

Q4. Can I take Practice Tests withour Registration?

We allow guests to take the first Practice Test of each Chapter even without Registration. This allows them to explore the features and functionality before Registration. However guests would not be able to either save their results or compare their results with other Registered Users.

Q5. What is the validity of my subscriotion?

Subscription are valid till the immediately next 31st March.

Download & Software

Q1. Do I need to download any software?

No. There is no need to download any software to access the content on GoforPractice.com. You can simply type the website name on to your web browser and access content by logging in with your email ID and password to the GoforPractice account.

Q2. Do I have to download content from GoforPractice every time I want to use it?

No. You don’t need to download any content to be able to access it.

Q3. How does it work without having to download any software or any content?

The entire system works on Cloud based hosting so there is no need to download anything.It is simple, efficient and convenient.

Q4. What are the minimum system requirements?

1. - PC with Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7 and above.
2. - Internet Connection
3. - Computer with at least a 1GHz processor and 512 MB RAM
4. - Recommended color depth of 32bits

Troubleshooting

Q1. I am unable to get through my account using the password?

Passwords are case-sensitive. You will have to use it exactly in the same cases as chosen earlier.

Q2. I forgot/lost my password. What should I do?

If you have forgotten/lost you password, we can send a password reset mail to your registered email address. Click here to request for a password reset mail.

Q3. How do I change my password?

To change your password, simply access your 'My Account' after login. You will find a field there to be able to change your password.

Q4. Why did I receive an email that my account is blocked?

In the interest of your safety, we may block your account if we observe something untoward with respect to its access, operation etc. After rectification, we shall restore the access at the earliest.

Q5. I am unable to view the content in right proportions?

The content can be best viewed on latest browsers (Google chrome, Mozilla Firefox, IE, Safari, Opera)

Practice Tests

Q1. What are the basic rules to the Practice Tests?

GoforPractice provides a homogeneous and standardised environment to practice. To view the basic rules, click here

Q2. How do I find the Chapter that I wish to test myself on?

Click on the Dashboard Tab and then view all the Subjects/ Chapters that are available for testing.

Q3. How many Practice Tests are available on any given Chapter?

All Chapters carry 3 Practice Tests each under the three difficulty levels i.e Level A, Level B and Level C. Therefore each Chapter has 9 Practice Tests in all.

Q4. How lenghty are the Practice Tests?

All Practice Test across Subjects/ Chapters has a set of 10 (Ten) questions each. This keeps the exercise interesting.

Q5. What is the stipulated duration to complete the Practice Test.

Practice Tests would have a maximum time allowed ranging from 5 to 20 minutes depending upon the Chapter and the difficulty level. You are allowed an extra 5 minutes to complete. This extra time allows you to understand if you knew the answer but took longer than expected to answer.

Q6. How many times can I attempt a Particular Practice Test?

We encourage the user to be prepared before taking a Practice Test. You can attempt a particular Practice Test any number of times after a gap of 24 hours in between. However the score that you obtained the first time would remain your final score for that Practice Test. This is done to encourage Users to spread their time judiciosuly and cover all Practice Tests and Chapters.

Q7. I am unable to click on the Practice Test for the next difficulty level. Why is it so?

In order to ensure that you are reasonably doing well at a given level, you must score 8 or above in any Practice Tests of that level. On achieving that score, the next difficulty level would be unlocked automatically.

Q8. Do I lose the chance to attempt a next level Practice Test if I do not score 8 or above in any of the Practice Test of a particular level?

No, the system allows you to go back to your books, prepare again and re-appear for the Practice Tests after a gap of 24 Hours in case you have not been able to score an 8 or more at any Practice Tets at a given level in your first attempt. However, your original scores on the first attempt remain there in the dashboards.

Q9. Can I Flag a questions for a review before submission of the Practice Test?

Yes, you can flag questions in case you wish to review them before hitting the "Submit" button. However if the allowed time is over then those choices are considered final.

Q10. Do I need to answer the questions in the order of 1 to 10 only?

Yes, You will have to answer the questions in chronological order but you can go back to any questions for review/change of answer.

Q11. Can I amend my answer(s)?

Yes, You can amend the answers before you "Submit" the Practice test provided you have time left to finish the Practice Test.

Q12. Can I choose to skip answering a question?

No, you cannot skip a question. We would like the user to stimulate their mind and choose the best option before proceeding to the next question. You can always flag the question for a review.

Q13. I would like to mark some questions that I wish to revise later after I have taken the Practice Test. Can I do that?

Yes. After your attempt, all the questions that you did not get right would automatically be put under the Revision list. In addition, you can put any more questions in the Revision List too. You also have the choice to take out the question from the revision list at any time. You can access/manage this from "My Revisions" tab.

Q14. Do I have an option not to submit the Practice Test if I feel I could have done better?

Yes, you can choose to "Quit" the Practice Test at any time. The score of that attempt would not be stored.

Q15. Can I view the answer sheets of the Practice Test(s) that I have already taken?

Yes. You can simply click on the score of any Practice Test to view the entire answer sheet of your first and latest attempt.

Scores and Dashboards

Q1. What is the marking system on the Practice Tests?

Each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking.

Q2. If I have not answered a question, then how would that be marked?

In case any question is unanswered and you choose to Submit the Practice Test then no marks would be counted for the unanswered question.

Q3. When do I get to view the answers?

After the Practice Test is submitted, you can view your answers by clicking the "View Answers" Button.

Q4. What is Chapter Dashboard?

Chapter Dashboard would show the score of each Practice Test in that Chapter alongwith the Chapter score and the Chapter Coverage Meter.

As you work your way through the Practice Tests on any Chapter, a overall Chapter Score is generated for all the Practice Test under that Chapter. It will be shown at the bottom of the Chapter Dashboard.

Q6. What is Chapter Coverage Meter?

As you work your way through the Practice Tests on any Chapter, a Chapter Coverage Meter would show how much ground you have covered. This would allow you to assess how many more Practice Tests in that Chapter are still to be attempted.

Q7. What Subject Dashboard?

Subject Dashboard would show the Chapter Score of each Chapter in that Subject alongwith the Subject Score and the Subject Covergae Meter.

Q8. What is the Subject Score?

As you work your way through the Practice Tests on any Subject, a overall Subject Score is generated for all the Practice Tests under that Subject. It will be shown at the bottom of the Subject Dashboard.

Q9. What is Subject Coverage Meter?

As you work your way through the Practice Tests on any Subject, a Subject Coverage Meter would show how much ground you have covered. This would allow you to assess how many more Practice Tests in that Subjects are still to be attempted.

Q10. What is Class Dashboard?

Class Dashboard would show the Subject Score of each Subject in that Class.

Q11. Can I test myself on more than 1 Chapter in a single practice test.

Yes. You can generate your own Mix n' Match Practice Test from among the various chapters available. You can choose the Chapters and the respective difficulty levels for which you wish to generate the Mix n' Match Practice Test.

Q12. How many Minimim and Maximum Chapters can I choose to create my own Mix n' Match Practice Test?

You can choose a Minimum of 2 (two) Chapters to create your own Practice Sheets. We have not restricted the Maximum number of chapters so that you are not restricted on your real potential.

Q13. How many such Mix n' Match Practice Tests can I create.

There is no limit to the number of Mix n' Match PracticeTests that you can create. You can create as many as you would like.

Q14. How many Questions from each Chapters would appear in the Mix n' Match Practice Test.

A set of 5 Questions would be picked up by the system on a random basis from each selected Chapter.

Analysis and Reports

Q1. What are the various levels at which Analysis and reports are available?

Analysis and Reports are available at three different levels. First level is the Practice Test Level, Second is the Chapter Level and Third is the Subject Level.

Q2. What is the Practice Test Level Analysis and Report and how is it beneficial for assessemnt?

Practice Test Analysis and Report is divided into two parts i.e Score and Time. The Score portion shows the Score attained by the User and compares that with the Average and the Maximum scores of other Users in your City as well as the entire GFP community. This helps you to assess your performance in solo as well as in competition with your class mates.The Time portion shows the efficiency with which you reached your Score. It shows the time taken by the User for that Practice Test and compares it with the Average and the Minimum time taken by other Users in your City as well as the entire GFP community. This helps you to assess your speed in solo while being aware of the speed of your class mates.

Q3. What is the Chapter Level Analysis and Report and how is it beneficial for assessemnt?

Chapter Level Analysis and Report is covered in the Chapter Dashboard and is split under three portions. The first portion shows User's scoring on individual tests under the Chapter, the second portion shows the Chapter Score and the Chapter Coverage Meter. The third portion shows the comparison of the Chapter Score with Average and Maximum Chapter Score of other Users in your City as well as the entire GFP community. These Analysis and Reports give you an assessment from the Chapter's perspective.

Q4. What is the Subject Level Analysis and Report and how is it beneficial for assessemnt?

Subject Level Analysis and Report is covered in the Subject Dashboard and is split under three portions. The first portion shows User's scoring on individual chapters under the Subject, the second portion shows the Subject Score and the Subject Coverage Meter. The third portion shows the comparison of the Subject Score with Average and Maximum Subject Score of other Users in your City as well as the entire GFP community. These Analysis and Reports give you an assessment from the Subject's perspective.

General

Q1. What does GFP stands for?

It is an abbreviation that we use for GoforPractice.

Q2. Can I add Email IDs to which I would like the Test results etc to be sent?

Yes, you can add Email ID in "My Account" tab.

Q3. Can I change the City during the course of my class subscription?

No. This would affect the comparisons of the historical scores and would have adverse impact on overall assessments, therefore not allowed.
